Peter Callesen is an artist. His overhead for art supplies is pretty low though. Where some artists have to starve to acquired the paint, canvases, film, or other supplies necessary to create their masterpieces, Callesen can just stop into Staples and pick up a pack of printer paper. One sheet of paper. That’s all this man needs to create some pretty ridiculous works of art, some of which are so beautiful and intricate they don’t need the “gimmick” of just having been created with paper.

GWAR… it’s a noise. It’s a state of being. It’s a band. Created in 1985 and dressed as they are at right, would you believe they’re still around… doing things?

A mix of heavy-metal and punk rock, these guys are probably best known for their outrageous costumes and ridiculous on-stage performances: throwing “bodies” into a “machine” and spraying the audience with “blood” and “semen.” Oh my… where can I get some “tickets”?

Current members include: Oderus Urungus (immediate front in the above picture), Beefcake the Mighty (far back right), Flattus Maximus, Balsac the Jaws of Death, and Jizmak Da Gusha. But don’t forget those great former like Nippleus Erectus, and Lee Beato (and there are oh so many more).

Mr. Extreme and Shadow Hare are dressed up in costumes that would make Bruce Wayne jealous (if he were a naked, crack-addicted homeless man deprived of sleep for 11 days… and not Bruce Wayne).
