I'm with Bill. From an emotional point of view (being a counsellor) I agree that the rage of 'Hulk' makes more sense. From a Super Hero lovers point of view there wasn't enough action in it for me and I was never quite sure if I liked or disliked the comic book panel thing Ang did in the movie. My most enjoyed parts were the final battle scenes, 'Hulk' chased by the military etc.

Whilst 'Incredible Hulk' didn't have the same emotional depth in the rage area I for one didn't care; the action sequences were awesome and emotionally the movie tended to weigh heavily on the sensitive/protective side of the beast towards the beauty (in typical Hollywood fashion ofcourse!). From a comic book fans perspective I felt the second movie delivered a more authentic picture of the Hulk.

the new movie - '08 Incredible Hulk - is definitely the better movie BUT I much prefer the physique of the '03 film. it's broader, it's better looking anatomically and simply...more like that of a 'hulk'.
it was however too big.
9' woulda been fine. not that crazy 16' size he got to.

I was so discourage when i saw the INCREDIBLE HULK 2008 movie because i was expecting more and greater distraction but when he turn into an incredible hulk, he didnt look as it used to be..he's smaller than the 2003 movie and less powerful..2003 hulk throw's a tank that weighs 10 tons or more, so i was expecting the INCREDIBLE HULK MOVIE displays more power and strength but it turn to be a mini hulk movie, as u can see, he cant jump so high and he only lifted a ham-v vehicle(the heviest object he lifted in that movie, and according to the comics, he has an incredible healing factor, now where's the INCREDIBLE thing in the 2008 INCREDIBLE HULK movie?

I prefer the Hulk. And agree it was a far more interesting story and added far greater depth, therefore more emotionally compelling. They demonstrated the range of Hulk's power and character. You experienced him in rage, confused, exhausted, and even more sentimental emotions. The hulk also looked better and while the CGI was a little better in the incredible hulk, my expectations were not met. I think the main theme really sucked in the hulk though. I think it was the flutes; it really watered down what could have been a great soundtrack. When I first heard the soundtrack I turned off the DVD and it took me a while to get over the theme and to be able to enjoy the movie. The incredible hulk was more entertaining because they didn't have to deal with origin material. But I don't think Norton took the role seriously.

Bill you clearly were not an english major or any such expert on drama. incredible 08 gave so much emotion. people legitamently sympathised with Bruce and his green alter ego. and he has every right to be intensly angry, there is nothing more frustrating then being a fugative and being chased around by black ops all at the same time being unable to have a normal social life because everything has to be done in order to prevent a hulk outbreak, and if he wasnt trying to prevent himself from transforming he was workin on a way to get rid of it. the first time he sees Betty he runs for it because he is too ahsamed of what he has become. thats not even slightly heartbreaking? or reason to transform and beat somebody sensless? and as if the 03 hulk ever had a reasom to transform, his first transformationw ass over a hissy fit in the lab. he never even knew he had a father and never met his mother these things are all very sad but non of them can be taking that big of an emotional toll on the guy.

I think it is just a matter of what you want; 'The Hulk' was a film and 'Incredible' was a movie. I prefer 'The Hulk' over 'Incredible' because of the psychologically aspect that is weaved throughout the entire film. Whereas 'Incredible' was just eye candy and action, good pop-corn stuff. In the end I feel much more anguish for Ang's Hulk than I do the incredible one. Maybe its because Ang Lee's Hulk has much more to be angry about (his father destroyed his life, mother was murdered, he is emotional detached, Ross threatens him) and I didn't quite understand why Norton's 'Incredible Hulk' was so angry other than the government being after him and he couldn't be with beatty. It just seemed shallow compared to the built up angst of Ang Lee's Hulk.

i've been a comic book fan for a long time, had been looking forward to a HULK movie since Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno. The ang Lee version was pretty good for the time, except, the entrire story line about dear old dad, and we did not need a 20foot HULK. for those of us that watched the t.v. series, the THE INCREDIBLE HULK was just that. the homage paid to the series was great, and when hulk said, 1. "leave me alone" 2. "hulk smash" and 3. "betsy" i was blown away. this is the movie that we had been waitng for.

idk... when u watch the incredible hulk and then watch the hulk movie right after u have to admit ang lees hulk does seem more visually enhanced... its sad cuz that movie was made five years ago and the cgi should have been way better in the 2008 version
